Meet the Board of Directors

 MARK AND WENDY MILLIGAN

Having experienced the joy of adoption within their own family, Mark and Wendy had a front-row seat to how God can give grace to children from hard places through time with horses.  Almost a decade ago, God gave Wendy the dream to support adoptive and foster families through equine ministry.

Though they had no prior experience with horses, Wendy was reminded during a Bible study on the armor of God that "the place where God is calling you to but that is also the place you have no experience, no time, & no resources to do it on your own? That's your faith place, where nothing but the God who has called you to it can accomplish it." There have been many steps of faith required, from taking horse riding lessons to buying their first horse to attending ministry training at Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch. Working with an amazing Board of Directors to make ministering to families at Faith Place Farm finally a reality, it has been the ultimate privilege to see God at work. 

We are excited to see how the Holy Spirit can provide healing to those who have experienced trauma, whether it's a Faith Place Farm session or a Stable Moments licensed program session designed specifically for foster and adopted kiddos. 

KATIE VACHRIS

So often I am reminded of Moses' response when the Lord appears and commissions him to rescue His people from bondage. Like me, Moses was not prepared for this mission. But God. God equips us, works through us, and sends people alongside us. Moses worried he was not the man for the job, and God reminds him that He equips those He calls.

I am so excited to be joining hands and hearts with this team the Lord has called together at Faith Place Farm. The vision He’s given us is big. And the need is big. It’s so good to know that God Is bigger!

I have spent the past 10+ years in operations and financial management of large corporations as well as government agencies. In 2020, I earned my Doctorate degree in Business Administration and am currently a project manager for the State of Alaska as well as an adjunct instructor at Liberty University. In each role, my heart loves seeing others grow and succeed, and I view the workplace as part of the larger mission field, for the need is great. One of my greatest passions is demonstrating the love of Christ to children, and part of that is demonstrating that same love to adults, for where do children receive the greatest of hurts?

Horses have played a major role in my life since early childhood, especially during the troubling seasons. They are so creatively wired by God to speak in those deepest hurts we carry. For children who have experienced or are experiencing trauma, these gentle giants have the ability to show love and acceptance.

MADI ROLLINS

My journey began in Alaska in 2018 when I decided to come up and work for a summer. One year later I moved up to Seward full-time. Over the next years, I got married, completed a bachelors degree in business management, and worked different seasonal jobs. I have loved horses from a young age, but did not grow up riding or working with horses. One of my dreams in high school and college was to volunteer at Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch, which serves individuals that have experienced trauma. Last year (2024) I connected with Wendy and came to find that she had gone to Crystal Peaks for training and was inspired to do something similar here in Moose Pass. The full circle of a dream coming to be a reality (nearly a decade later) was a reminder that the Lord has a plan, he knows our hearts and His timing is always perfect. The Lord tells us to love his children but I feel an extra tug on my heart to spend time listening, serving and helping those who are hurting. I became a mentor at Faith Place Farms and was moved by the experience of working with a child and horses. I am thrilled to continue serving and be more involved in the mission of Faith Place Farm, spreading hope and healing to all those who seek it.

NICK QUINN

I was raised in Alaska and have always loved nature and animals. I left Alaska to obtain a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. I taught elementary and middle school for several years. Throughout my life, I have been involved with many different programs focused on helping children who come from difficult backgrounds. Ten years ago, my family and I moved back to Alaska and currently live in Seward. I am excited to be a part of Faith Place Farm. It is truly amazing how God can work through his own creation to help heal those who are hurting and brokenhearted. Romans 34:14: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
