Join Our Team!

There are many ways to partner with the ministry of Faith Place Farm!
  1. Pray for us!  Pray for healing for the clients we serve, for direction for the mentors who serve, for health and provision for our horses, and for future growth and outreach of the ministry!
  2. Volunteer as a mentor!  Please read the Stable Moments page and follow the link at the bottom of the page to apply as a mentor.
  3. Want to help with special projects?  Have a talent or skill that could bless the outreach?  Contact our Director, Wendy Milligan, at faithplacefarm@gmail.com or 907-491-1411.
  4. Give financially!  Horses help provide the care for our clients, but their own care is expensive.  Both one-time and recurring donations are appreciated!  Donate here

Mission, Vision, and Values:

Mission:
Faith Place Farm exists to help bring healing to broken hearts and hope to hurting families.  We accomplish this by connecting f
oster children, adoptees, and trauma survivors with mentors and horses. This promotes learning, growth, and healing through individualized sessions.

Vision

Navigating a healthy family life can be challenging when a family member is heartbroken from difficult or traumatic experiences. Connecting a hurting person with a mentor and a horse can foster growth and healing, leading to healthier families and more hopeful futures.

Values:  As an organization, Faith Place Farm believes in the power of Jesus Christ to do the ultimate work of healing.  We value and support:

  • Foster and adoptive families and the children whom they sacrificially help.
  • Families and individuals who work to overcome the effects of abuse.
  • Families and individuals who desire the wholeness of who God created them to be.

What is Trauma?

“Trauma occurs when a person is overwhelmed by events or circumstances and responds with intense fear, horror, and helplessness. Extreme stress overwhelms the person’s capacity to cope.”

  Trauma can be caused by:
  • Physical, emotional, or sexual abuse
  • Accidents or natural disasters
  • Childhood abuse or neglect
  • Grief and and sudden or violent loss
  • Witnessing acts of violence
There is no “one size fits all” type of trauma.
Personality, personal experiences, and available support in the moment help define how one person may respond to an adverse event compared to another person.

What is traumatic for one may not be processed as traumatic for another.

The key is providing the support needed for each individual.  Sessions with horses can help!
